Are you traveling through Australia and making a stop in Brisbane? Do you have a student visa or work & holiday and have you chosen this sunny city to live in for a while? Whatever your case, Brisbane will not let you down. Best Hostels In Brisbane
If you are coming to live, I recommend that you use your first days to explore the city, get to know its neighborhoods, decide where you would like to live and see rooms calmly, compare, meet your possible roommates, etc.
Whether you decide on one of the hostels in this post, or another, you can reserve it through: Reservations Booking.
The prices for you will be the same, but I will be super grateful because it helps me a lot to continue with this project. Also, think that to write these article you have to be changing hostels every day and … it’s a big role xD
I am going to separate them by the different areas in which you can stay, with a brief explanation about each of them.
1. Roma Street Station
This station is the one you will probably arrive at when you come from the airport. Very close to the city center, a supermarket and, just by crossing the bridge, you arrive at the South Bank and West End area, my favorite neighborhoods. Best Hostels In Brisbane
1.1 Brisbane City YHA.
The YHA chain has hostels in many parts of the world and has considerable success. They know how to take care of their guests and have details that make a difference.
It has a TV room, games room, terrace with pool, tables and a couple of hammocks. Large kitchen with individual and tidy lockers for you to store your food. Friendly staff, cleanliness … And also other details that make your stay more comfortable, such as a closet for each guest in the room, to which you can put a lock. Reading light in every bed, things like that.
The only con I would put it is that the room of 8 in which I stayed, was not too spacious, but still, I consider it the best hostel in Brisbane.
Note: I contracted with them the “Cone-x-ion” airport shuttle bus for $ 15 when other hostels have it for $ 20.
1.2. Aussie Way Lodge
Located around Roma Street Station, although it is somewhat further away than others, this colonial house transformed into a hostel is a good option. Similar to its neighbor Banana Bender Backpackers, there are tranquility and good vibes. Best Hostels In Brisbane
Its terrace is ideal for having a coffee while reading a book and the pool, especially if you go in the hottest season, makes this hostel a very good option to spend a few days.
1.3. Summer House Backpackers
Together with the Brisbane City YHA and the City Backpacker, they form the top three hostels on this street.<!–
Modern decor, comfortable beds, a pool, living rooms, a spacious kitchen, and a rooftop terrace that will make you want to stay.
1.4. City Backpacker HQ
Right next to the previous one, both are very similar. Modern facilities, great location, and prices reasonable. Both of them accumulate a lot of good comments on the main booking pages.
1.5. Banana Bender Backpackers
This small hostel is a very good option for those looking for tranquility.
The bathrooms are always quite clean, the rooms are spacious and it has a living room with books, armchairs and a television. In addition, the terrace area is ideal to sit with your laptop or to talk with other travelers. Best Hostels In Brisbane
Wi-Fi is limited to 300MB per day. They give you a gig if you leave a comment on TripAdvisor and if you want more, you have to pay it.
On the other hand, they keep your suitcase for one month for free and then they charge you $ 20 per month.
2. West End
With many charming bars, restaurants, and cafes, it is the most bohemian neighborhood in town. The recommended hostels here are in the part of the West End from which you can walk to the center.
2.1. Brisbane Backpackers Resort
This is my favorite from the West End area. I have been there twice and the atmosphere is the best. The common area with the tables next to the pool, the bar, a 24-hour menu from which you can order something to eat at any time of the day, billiards …
A priori, especially on weekends, it may seem that you will not be able to sleep all night, however, I was surprised by how the rules of not making noise are respected after 22:00. Best Hostels In Brisbane
2.2. Some Rooms Backpacker
Best rated in the West End area. Very good option to spend a few nights in a quite comfortable hostel in an ideal situation.
3. Fortitude Valley
If you are one of those who like to party, this is your place. There are many people who love this area and I will not deny that more than one morning I have ended up there. It is also quite close to the center, however, to live, I prefer other areas.
3.1. Bunk Brisbane
It is one of the most famous among those who want to stay in the Valley and has excellent reviews. In this no I have never been, I prefer other areas of the city, however, I have heard that this site has all the party you want, there is a very good atmosphere and is within walking distance of the best places in the city. 4. Room on Airbnb
Hostels are fine, they are a cheap option and they often allow you to meet interesting people, however, comfort is what it is. If you want to spend more money but gain quality, the solution is clear: Airbnb.
